Not sure why any person with intelligence even shares their views on that site. They should prepare for a Nutter beatdown by the Bob’s if they do! (in fairness, Smizik tries to remain unbiased (often unsuccessfully). It’s just that he has become so associated with the Nutters that he defends and has befriended that he now clearly is one himself).

us Jays fans are kind of expecting Vlad jr. to play in the Majors this year – maybe that seems nuts but it is not like he is sitting at home right now eating doritos…..

The Pirates still consider themselves contenders. Kevin writes that the Brewers payroll is “so low” right now (which it actually is…in comparison to the mlb average) that they could sign Yu Darvish. Does that mean we could pick up a much needed free agent for 8M, then go after Yu Darvish and, quite possibly, work our way back to a respectable season? Oh, that’s right….we aren’t really contenders. And we never go after impact players anyway. Guess I was just dreaming. OK, back to Steve Pearce and power arms.

I agree with this assessment. Pirates quite possibly will lose 100 games this year. Yes, it’s that bad.

We call them Nutters.

I love the comical relief to my day….Steve Pearce! 35 year old Steve Pearce is going to come in, and along with all those “power arms” in the bullpen, well, we’re going to surprise a lot of people this year!

Nutting keeps serving up and the Nutters keep drinking.

Also love how Bob Stover weighs in with his words of wisdom on just about every post. Just like having our own handy dandy expert available 24/7.

But Hudson was not good last year, which if you watched much of the Pirates you would understand.
So the Pirates have brought in two power arms in Crick and Feliz, clearly looking to bolster the bullpen in 2018, plus the Rule 5 Milbrath (I don’t like Rule 5 picks, personally). The Pirates have a lot of bullpen options, so this was a trade proposal to trade from excess (bullpen) for an area of need (OF, some power). The Pearce-Hudson swap is practically net-neutral in $$, so your dig about money is not even justified.
