Drafting 1st overall, the percentages are very high in getting a stud (minus a young kid messing up. See Josh Hamilton). It is an almost no miss. Now the Pirates are drafting much lower. Let’s see about talent finding them.

The 2008 draft was good, 2009 terrible. 2010 will be justified by Taillon, awesome if Kingham becomes #3/4.

2012 is a bust
2013 appears just OK with Meadows
2014-15 too soon, but I don’t like the looks of them overall.

People tend to look at how many draftees are currently on our team and think that NH has been horrible. Outside of 2009 (which produced, by way of trade, Melancon), NH seems to have done quite well…at least potentially.
